Jorrit Kelder studied Mediterranean Archaeology at the University of Amsterdam, and received his PhD in Ancient History at the VU University at Amsterdam. He has worked for various archaeological projects in Greece, Syria, Egypt and Romania. His main research interests are the eastern Mediterranean during the Bronze Age, trade and diplomatic contacts in antiquity, and processes of state formation.
